We as Christians have taken the Bible and tried to adapt it to our modern day context for far too long. This also twists the meaning of the text. To say that simply reading a chapter is context without knowing the history behind why a certain book or letter is being written causes us to misunderstand much of what the authors were trying to say. Much the way the Constitution is being handled in our government today. <strong><em> <blockquote>Excellent point. Excellent point. I couldn’t agree more that we need to keep the Bible in it’s cultural, historical, etc. context. I think people do tend to read into it what’s happening in their modern day lives … and it just doesn’t work that way.
